Stelarc (Australia). Stelarc has performed 25 body suspensions with hooks into the skin. He has made 3 films of the inside of his body and has inserted an operational robotic sculpture inside his stomach. He has performed with a Third Hand, a Virtual Body and Exoskeleton, a 6-legged walking robot. His Prosthetic Head is an artificial agent that speaks to the person who interrogates it. He is presently surgically constructing and stem cell growing an ear on his arm. Electronically augmenting the ear will become internet enabled, becoming a mobile and acoustical organ for people in other places. His projects expose the body as obsolete and he explores alternate anatomical architectures.
